I think more correct term here should be average workweek, not deep focused work! Although the ideal number of hours of focused work per week depends on a variety of factors, including your job, goals, and personal circumstances:
Research suggests that productivity decreases after 50 hours per week and drops off significantly after 55 hours. Not taking at least one full day off per week can also lead to lower hourly output.
So yes 40-50 hours work week is the average hours a person should spend on working, but focused work in the flow state will be less around 35-40 hours per week!
